Our directory is like an online family of traders. Where viable, we share work, communicate with one another and offer advice to ensure that you get the highest levels of expertise possible. Therefore, it makes sense that not everyone can join our family. In order to join us, prospective traders must first prove that they are appropriately qualified and insured. They have to provide us with a minimum of five verified references from former customers, so that we can make sure that they meet our extremely high standards.

Once a trader has been approved to join us, they are able to set up their own online profile page, which features details of their location, specialisms, reviews and contact details, as well as information on awards and relevant professional associations. This helps to make it easier than ever for you to find the right trader for the job.

We don’t just want you to take our word for it that the traders in our directory are top notch. So, why not listen to former customers instead? Our review system means that we invite anyone who has had first-hand experience with a trader listed in our directory to provide an honest review of their experience. As well as a written review, former customers are asked to rate the service that they received across six categories, including punctuality, cleanliness and quality of work. An overall star rating of up to five stars lets you see instantly what others think of the standards of work offered by a trader.

One of our most frequently asked questions is “Why don’t you have any low-scoring traders listed in your directory?” The answer is simple. Aside from the fact that all of our traders have to go through our vetting process, which means that there are no shoddy workers or rogue traders listed on Trust A Trader, on the very rare occasions where a customer is unhappy with the works carried out, our resolution service helps the trader and customer to reach a mutually satisfactory conclusion. If this is not possible and the trader is found to be at fault, they will be removed from our directory immediately and blacklisted, so that they can’t re-register. This helps us to maintain our high standards, high reviews, and happy customers.
