Rats and mice are determined creatures who are always looking for safe harbourage. Once rodents have found their way into a warm building with a food supply, it takes skill to get rid of them and keep them out. Mice can squeeze through a hole the width of a pencil and rats can navigate even the most slippery pipes. If you believe you have mice there are a few things to look out for - firstly check for signs of damage to food products such as holes in cereal boxes or bags of flour. You may see gnaw marks in the kitchen cupboards, on the skirting boards, plastic pipes or electrical cables. Small holes in the walls or floor that may have a dark smear on one edge and the most common sign..... small rice size droppings.

It’s common knowledge in the pest industry that you can’t simply treat pest problems – you need to ensure the pests don’t come back again. The secret to this is proofing which involves detective work to find out exactly where the pests have entered and then blocking holes. This needs to be done by an expert as particular materials need to be used that can’t be gnawed through – even the tiniest gaps need to be expertly filled or you will have repeat offender pests.

The return of pests is very stressful, depressing and inconvenient for residents, so our new service has been well received by customers. Since the project started, we’ve seen residents take an interest in the proofing and because they are more involved, they take on the advice we give them about housekeeping. They feel they are part of the process, rather than victims of their unfortunate circumstances.

Treatment is a fixed price trapping or rodenticide programme, depending on your preference, requiring a minimum of 2 visits.

    "I am very happy with the service - he did a very thorough job and within a week all mice were gone! He was always on time and communicated well on the phone. He also taught us a lot about mice and explained why he was doing everything he was doing, which allowed us to understand but also protect ourselves better from them.
