"Failed to correctly diagnose fault or fully rectify issue, charge £180, exact same fault returned 2.5 weeks later and was told it would be a brand new job and another call out charge 12-Mar - Electrician attended to investigate and rectify why my hot water cylinder was not receiving power. When the electrician put their multimeter on the contactor to test it, the whole system started working again. Electrician stated they were not sure exactly why it started working again and if it happens again to call and they will comeback. On-site max 30 mins. 30-Mar - I returned from holiday to no hot water. Contacted Lloyd to see if the electrician can return to investigate why the exact same fault has returned and was told it will be a brand new job and another minimum call out charge despite it being only 2.5 weeks after they attended. I was told the original charge was not for full diagnosis nor to fix the issue"
Trader reply: "We are disappointed to see that you have continued to post repeated reviews across multiple platforms regarding the same visit, despite the matter already being addressed directly with you. At this stage, your actions appear excessive and disproportionate. You are posting similar statements every few days across multiple platforms, which gives the impression of a targeted attempt to damage our reputation rather than resolve a genuine concern. To clarify the situation: 1. You contacted us regarding an issue with your immersion heater and provided videos focusing on the timer/programmer. We explained that this may not necessarily be the fault and that further investigation could be required. 2. We attended your property on 12th March 2026 to carry out a fault investigation. During our visit, power was restored after adjustments were made to the contactor connections. No replacement parts were installed. 3. This was a diagnostic call-out, which was clearly explained in advance. The purpose was to investigate and identify the fault, not to carry out a full repair or replace components unless agreed separately. 4. The fault returning later indicates the underlying component (the contactor) is faulty and requires replacement, which aligns with our original assessment. 5. You were informed that any further attendance would be treated as a new visit. This is standard industry practice where no parts have been replaced and no guarantee can be provided on intermittent faults. We would also like to make clear: • The charge applied was for diagnosis, expertise, and attendance, all of which were carried out as agreed. • Time spent on site does not determine value; the service provided was completed as per the agreed scope. • You were fully aware of our terms prior to attendance. It is also important to highlight that following the visit, you initially confirmed that you were not willing to pay the invoice. After being advised that the matter may be escalated through the appropriate legal channels, you later confirmed that payment would be made. At that stage, you also indicated that you would leave reviews regarding the service. Since then, you have proceeded to post multiple reviews across various platforms, repeating similar claims while omitting key context. A complete and accurate record of all communication is held. On the advice of our legal representatives, we are formally documenting and retaining all communications, reviews, and related activity across all platforms. This includes monitoring patterns of repeated postings and any associated activity linked to our business, including potential non-genuine reviews. This information will be reviewed in full to determine whether there are grounds for further action in relation to misleading or defamatory statements. We take dishonest or misleading reviews extremely seriously and will act accordingly within our legal rights if required. As a business, we have since moved on from this matter and remain focused on continuing to deliver high-quality electrical work for our clients. We will continue to respond professionally where required so that the full and accurate context is available publicly. If requested, we are able to provide full transcripts of all communication, including WhatsApp messages and emails, to ensure complete transparency. Lloyd Hallowell Electrics"
