Looking for a decorator who treats your home with the same respect as their own? You’ve found him.
At Topnotch Decorating I don’t just paint walls; I transform spaces. Based in Gamlingay and covering the three counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, I am a reliable, professional, and fully insured independent painter and decorator dedicated to delivering flawless finishes that stand the test of time.
Whether it’s a single room refresh, a full domestic overhaul, or a light commercial project, I bring the same meticulous attention to detail to every single job.
Why Choose Me?
The crowd is full of painters, but I pride myself on being a true craftsman. When you hire me, you get me—not a subcontractor or a rotating crew. Here is what sets my work apart:
Obsessive Preparation: The secret to a perfect finish is the work nobody sees. I spend the time doing meticulous sanding, filling, and masking because a great paint job is only as good as the prep underneath.
Clean & Respectful: I know that having tradespeople in your home can be disruptive. I guarantee a clean, tidy workspace and protective sheets to keep your home immaculate.
Reliable & On Time: I show up when I say I will, work efficiently, and respect your deadlines. No vanishing acts, no hidden fees—just honest, transparent communication from estimate to completion.
Expert Advice: From choosing the right durable finishes for high-traffic areas to helping you navigate historic details , I offer expert guidance tailored to your lifestyle and budget.
My Services Include:
Interior & Exterior Painting
Wallpapering & Feature Walls
Woodwork, Skirting & Door Restoration
Domestic & Small Commercial projects
I believe that high-quality decorating shouldn’t come with high stress. I love what I do, and my goal is always to leave you completely thrilled with your space.

"We are so pleased we had David come to paint our lounge and kitchen (we will definitely be asking him back in the future). He was very professional, tidy and we hardly heard a peep from him whilst we were working! Thank you again David."

"I can't recommend David highly enough. He did a brilliant job with the painting and was a real professional. He worked quickly, but the finish is top-notch.What really stood out was how tidy he was; doing so properly at the end of every single day, so there was hardly any disruption to our routine. David genuinely went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. If you need a painter, he’s the one to call. Teri and Michael"
