"Engineer arrived to replace a 2-way valve and did so. The problem however was that the pump in the same enclosure decided that it was going to fail on the same day as work was being carried out. No doubt the company will state that the system is older (which it is) but that doesn’t excuse the engineer leaving a trail of destruction behind. In addition, the engineer left the property without checking that the system was up and running, in fact it was in a worse condition because the boiler was tripping due to the pump failure. My only option was obviously to authorise the pump replacement but obviously I am unhappy at the near doubling of the cost."
Trader reply: "Thank you for your feedback as it's very important to us. We value your comments as customer service is our priority. The 2 port valve had failed and instead of draining down which was a very large house which would have taken three times as long to do, we isolated the pump isolation valve so we could carry out the work needed and keep costs down. Isolation valves are there to be used when general maintenance such as this job is carried out. The isolation valve due to it;s age seized and would not re-open requiring us to fit a new isolation valve. You were made aware by the engineer that due to the valve sticking and seizing the boiler wouldn't ignite until this was replaced. We apologised and explained why it happened, we needed to order these parts and come back on a second visit unfortunately. There was no trail of destruction as nothing was damaged, just a valve that wouldn't open. We had you back up and running the following day. These things can happen, and we will always do our utmost best to get them resolved when they do."

"My pensioner Mum required a new boiler and radiator at her house. Mr Burns kept both my mother in person and me by telephone informed throughout as to the progress of the work and the costs. I had not asked that he first double-check with me but he did so as a matter of good customer relations and to protect my mother. This was first class service. He and his staff were efficient and tidy, and extremely courteous I have no hesitation in fully recommending him."
