"Richard came round to install a new consumer unit, electric shower and fix some lighting for me. He was helpful, professional, really friendly and gave me some sound advice. I have asked him to come back and quote for more work as I found him trustworthy and very quick to get back to me with quotes which I have really appreciated."

"Richard and Brian dealt with a tricky situation in our house where another builder left a bathroom refurbishment job half finished. Brian had been helpful, punctual and resourceful, dealing with unexpected problems that he encountered with brilliant suggestions and solutions. He worked in an efficient and considerate manner and the general quality and tidiness of the work are excellent. The job was completed in less than a week - what a difference from our previous bad experience with another trader!"

    Michael Carder - review image

"Unbelievably poor quality workmanship and carpentry. Left door stops hanging off the wall that my 2 year old pulled off with her fingers. Architraves around the door were loose and pinned to plaster with only a couple of nails. Mitre cuts were misaligned and only fixed with filler. Measured and cut the door frame incorrectly - twice! 3 days work has taken well over 6 weeks. He had to come back to finally fix the architrave to the wall and stormed off when I criticised his work and asked if I had to have it redone properly. It is still not done."

    UCS Construction's reply:
‘Thank you for your feedback as it’s very important to us. The works that was carried out was all completed as requested. I am always very happy to assist to carry out any little extra at no extra cost if I have the time & means. On this occasion I went over & beyond to help my client by purchasing additional material at my own expense & returning to the client’s home in my own time On my return the client had pointed out some very minor detail to which I had responded & explained to him that my job was only to carry out the carpentry works, & that it would be the painters’ responsibility to seal & fill any small gaps in preparation for the decorating, with this response he became very rude. My reaction was then to immediately leave preventing the situation from escalating. In all my years in this industry the vast majority of clients often are really nice people to work with. I find it not only sad but embarrassing that adult individuals would behave in such a manner. Kind Regards
