The Gardening Angel

"I contacted The Gardening Angel because I wanted to use a trader who was listed on a reputable platform My original enquiry stated that I wanted dead front garden trees removing/digging up. After an initial quote, I asked The Gardening Angel for a revised price for the front trees, the apple tree/stump in the back garden and the old stump. They replied confirming they could do this for £450. When the workers arrived, my husband was told the work was different from what they had been sent to do and the price increased on the day. The workers were at the property for around one hour. The front trees and back garden apple stump were cut down to ground level using a chainsaw. The trees/roots were not dug up or removed as requested in my original enquiry. No receipt or invoice was provided at the time. I had to chase repeatedly the following day before an invoice was eventually sent. I would not use this trader again."

Trader reply: "Thank you for your feedback. We take all customer feedback seriously and always strive to provide a high standard of service. There are a few points in the review that I would like to clarify. Before any work began, there was a revised scope of work and price, these were discussed on site with the customer's husband, who authorised the work. Once completed, he inspected the work, confirmed he was satisfied, and paid the agreed amount in cash. After receiving the complaint, I made several attempts to discuss the concerns and asked how I could resolve them. However, I was only asked to provide a refund. Although I was initially asked to return, when I explained, I would need to inspect the work to understand the concerns and determine whether any remedial work was required, permission to attend was refused. As I have not been permitted access to inspect the work, I have been unable to assess or rectify the concerns raised. The work invoiced for was completed in accordance with the agreed scope of works and the authorisation given before the work commenced."
