Edward Andrews - Image 1 "Perfectly nice fella but has done an appalling job trying to install a bay window. Materials used were cheap and did not match required specifications, overall workmanship was very poor and was overcharged massively following advice from an experienced builder. The window installed was oversized for the property, he left the old lower lintel in which blocked half of the light from the new window, the window was not aligned with the outdoor sill and the sill inside was crudley made from second hand timber which looked awful. He charged £7000 for a job where materials overall cost less than £2000, initially promised work and processes not followed. It has cost me another £2000 to get this issue fixed, I cannot recommend this trader."
Trader reply: "Thank you for your feedback as it's very important to us. We value your comments as customer service is our priority. From the start of the job, I kept the customer fully informed. I explained where the lintel and opening would be, showed him the finished height, and made sure he understood the layout. He confirmed everything looked good and said he would leave me to carry on, so I continued with the work as agreed. On the final day, when I returned to finish up, he suddenly said he wanted the lintel going higher and questioned why I hadn’t done it that way. This was surprising, especially since he had previously said he was happy with the work and never asked for any changes. Regarding the materials, any claims that they were cheap are completely untrue. Access to the site was straightforward, and I also handled waste removal myself, some of which wasn’t even related to the job. When he asked about raising the lintel on the last day, I went home, worked out the new measurements and cost, and gave him a fair price. He said he needed time to think, and got back to me 3–5 days later saying no, to just come and finish as planned. I agreed and told him I’d be back in about two weeks. Kind regards JB Brickwork"

Stacey - Image 1 "I would highly recommend joe blackshaw for any building enquiries. We asked if Joe was able to complete two small extensions, consisting of a 3’2 and 4’2 at the front and rear of or property. Joe was in contact with us the following day and gave us a quote by the end of the week. Work commenced approx 4 weeks from initial contact. Joe kept us informed throughout the job, as to what he would be doing and when. There was no job too small and anything asked of him he turned his hand too. He even offered to do extra bits he new we were after, unrelated to the extension. Joe was very laid back and embraced a challenge. His brick work is excellent and work ethic and communication are fantastic. The majority of both extensions were done by Joe alone. I would use again and highly recommend"
