"The communication was poor - making multiple appointments then cancelling them at the last moment. Stopping work for two weeks after starting with little to no communication in between. Did not produce quality expected e.g. When boarding up, the walls were created with 85 degree corners which looks dreadful. Left a big nasty rust mark on the driveway. Work took 2.5 months when it should’ve been completed in 2 weeks, which felt like I was at the bottom of their priority list. Plasterers didn’t cover up the floor when doing the work, it took 5h of my time to clear it off before it could be tiled. The concrete around the water channel wasn’t pointed when finished, I took my intervention to get it right. Every day the work was taking place, the door was kept open all day even when it was 2 degrees outside. There were many more issues which I can't list here. Overall I do not recommend this company as the entire process was very disappointing."

Trader reply: "I was in regular communication with the client, I was aware of progress each day – I ask our clients to report back via email with any issues and a couple items were reported and we resolved those within days. During the works I always made any arranged appointments, a while after the client advised that one the door hinges was squeaking and I advised that this required lubrication and I would pop by and oil this. This is the 2 appointments I missed and this was due to me sustaining a knee injury and have not made there yet. The client opted for doors for the front and back house which had 6-8 week delivery. So we did all the works we could and had no choice but stop and the client was informed when he choose those doors. I personally inspect work before handing over to my clients and work on a basic principal I don’t had over anything I would not accept and this has been my process without a complaint in 35 years of running my own business. We striped out what was the external door which was being replaced by an internal door and frame it came apparent that the external brick work was 15-20mm proud of the internal block work, we advised we would need to saw cut the masonry brick back and to do so we would sheet over the internal skin however the client didn’t want the dust and this was inside the porch so some dust could be expected? So when plastering the reveal had to be slightly our of square and this was 8mm – This was explained to the client and he said he did not want to cut the brick back due to dust I agree the skip has left a rust mark on the drive and we offered to resolve this by painting the area with a special tarmac driveway product. We offered to paint the whole drive at a reduced cost charging the client material only and no labour charge however this was declined The floor was cleaned scraped and mopped upon completion. In 39 years in construction I have never left an unhappy client, its disappointing that the client chose to give this review based on a squeaky door which I confirm I have not been back to oil."
