Jacob - Image 1 "I only wanted one room carpeted. Picked out, sent them measurements was quoted. Then they came out to measure themselves, fair enough. Got another quote Then booked in for the work, offered a parking space with clear instructions and pictures. Not used or known apparently. Fitted the carpet, had to be pointed out that they had failed to install a door bar to the bathroom as they were leaving. I don't think they would have mentioned it and just left the job incomplete. Came on site to quote and clearly a door bar was needed so unsure how they arrived without necessary parts. Booked next day. Given a 3 hour slot. Late to the time slot. Wasting our time after failing to complete the job paid for. Grippers poking through the carpet. Told not to worry about spikes round the room. Asked to correct their mistakes and get told to relax about it. Really unprofessional, never had a fitting where grippers were left dangerously poking through. Still left them I'm going to fix it myself."
Trader reply: "Thank you for your feedback. We take all customer comments seriously and always aim to provide a professional and responsive service. Prior to the installation, a site measure was carried out and our quotation clearly stated that the carpet at the bathroom/bedroom doorway would be tucked in line with the existing installation. This was due to the existing wooden threshold and the condition of the subfloor in front of the bathroom area, which was not suitable for alternative finishing methods. Despite this, following your concerns, we returned to the property and supplied and fitted a door bar free of charge as a gesture of goodwill in order to assist further, despite this not being included within the original quotation. Regarding the gripper concern, the carpet selected was a budget range carpet with a lighter backing, and in some cases gripper pins can become more noticeable until fully settled and adjusted during fitting. Nevertheless, once this was raised to us, we attended the property personally and went through all areas highlighted, checking and hammering down the gripper pins where necessary. During this attendance, the areas were inspected together on site and the adjustments were carried out immediately as concerns were pointed out. The remedial attendance and works completed were also documented and can be provided if required. Before leaving the property, we asked you to confirm whether you were satisfied with the adjustments carried out, and at the time we were informed that everything was resolved. We are therefore disappointed to later receive this review, particularly as we attended promptly, carried out additional works free of charge beyond the original quotation, and made every effort to resolve the concerns raised professionally and efficiently. We appreciate all feedback and remain committed to maintaining good workmanship and customer service standards."
