Durrant Construction was formed in 2012 by Luke Durrant. Luke has been in the building trade for over 15 years and has had substantial experience in working on a number of domestic and commercial projects. Based in Chelmsford, we cover Essex and all surrounding areas.
Durrant Construction has already built up an excellent reputation. Despite having not advertised previously we remain constantly in demand for our services, "word of mouth" recommendations providing the majority of our work and proving our biggest selling point.
As a company we aim to fulfil our client's wishes as much as we can and are always polite, punctual, tidy, efficient and respectful of those affected by our works. We keep our clients fully informed throughout the contract and are always available to talk and discuss matters should they arise.

All quotations are free and upon agreeing a price the client will receive a fully itemised written quotation, listing their staged payments. No money changes hands until after the 1st stage has been completed. To help you with the planning and design process we are happy to recommend Architects and Engineers. We work with the client and will do as little or as much as requested i.e. structural/groundworks to fully finished and decorated.

"A wonderful experience from our first meeting. Luke was able to explain the whole build process from start to finish and point us in the right direction with regard to the finer design features we wanted. Having your own home built is an exciting, but scary experience; so getting the right company onboard is essential. The quotation included a full breakdown of each build stage, along with a payment plan. Our house took only 9 months to complete and Durrant Construction staff were on site each and everyday. Luke was able to manage his team at Durrant and partner subcontractors seamlessly to ensure a smooth build. Luke’s experience meant that an issue with the roof joists which wasn’t spotted by our architect and building control potentially averted what could have been a costly mistake. We are now living in our beautiful home and cannot thank Luke and his team at Durrant Construction enough. "I recommended Luke and Durrant Construction to friends after having our house knocked down and rebuilt. We agreed a contract fee and timeframe. Both were met. Luke and all his teams were courteous tidy, hard working consistently through the build. Luke and the team will offer advice and support, along with a friendly and occasionally witty anecdote. "Some friends recommended Luke and the team to come and build our patio and a pergola. Luke helped refine the design and ideas from the first meeting and it was a pleasure to deal with someone who's attitude was "not a problem". Dealing with the team was easy and the guys on site throughout were courteous, friendly and very hard working. The results have exceeded our expectation and I feel I got good value from Luke. "My initial specification for a two storey side extension and single storey rear extension was drawn up by architectural designers. I asked four companies to quote and looked at their work. I chose Durrants because their quote was comprehensive and seemed reasonable value for money and I liked the polite way they came across. I moved out and rented a property while the build took place for six months. During the construction I found Luke to be very communicative, competent and trustworthy. The team interpreted and implemented the design well in my opinion. The slight issue was occasionally having to remind one or two people to stick to my design. In the end, Luke and his team have produced the WOW factor. I am happy with and proud of my new bigger better home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Durrant Construction. Thank you Luke and the team."
