We are a Chartered Building Engineering Consultancy, operating a one stop shop. Specialising in structural calculations and computations and party wall matters, we can also assist in planning drawings and applications.

Owned and operated by Abbo Thompson for over 14 years. Abbo undertakes all the works in house and is a chartered Fellow of the CABE, as well as a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors.

We undertake all aspects of getting your domestic and small commercial project ready for your builders.

We are based around the Gatwick area, covering East and West Sussex, parts of Surrey and Kent and SE London.

This includes;
• Planning drawings and applications, also permitted development applications and the larger home extension schemes, changes of use etc. 3D drawings upon request.
• Building control detail drawings and generic wording- Describing the minimum specification for Building Control to approve, prior to starting works on site.
• Structural calculations- Steel beams, picture frames, spices, joint details etc- for works we have designed and also for your own designs, including simple works like chimney breast removal, kitchen diner knock through, up to loft conversions and rear full width openings to your house.
• Party wall matters for your proposal, or representing you and adjoining neighbours.
• Structural defect surveys- where you have a defect and need further advice, or reports. We do not however, undertake house buyers surveys.
• Boundary disputes and resolution, through site survey and historic registry searches and applying common sense through years of experience.
• Build over notices and applications- where you need to work around or over a public sewer for your extension.
• SAP/ Energy calculations- for where your proposal has a large glazed area, energy calculations are required to prove that the proposal is energy efficient.
We offer tailored services to your project. As well as home owners, on our books are loft converters, small & medium builders, a mental health institution. Project managers and local architects.
