Moss grows back, roof maintenance can damage the roof and gutters need regular cleaning anyway. However, properties and customer needs are all different so please get in touch to discuss.

In September 2017, Choose Gutters and Roofing downsized from general property maintenance to gutter specialists. This is for work-life balance and because our customers say that we are good at gutters.

Due to our background in roofing and building, we take a 360 degree view of drainage and potential damp issues. We can also offer free advice, for instance a roof inspection or information on how much other building jobs should cost.

Our process is to -

Clean, inspect and water-test

Then repair or replace, if required

If your gutters haven't been cleaned for more than 2 years, or you have a leak, we recommend a clean. Often, gutters just need a good clean to stop them overflowing. It also allows us to see what condition they are in, if they are aligned, if they leak or to access gutter joints to repair.

It is worth maintaining your gutters because in our experience, gutter leaks and steady drips are the number one cause of penetrative damp. Gutters need to be clear to drain and stop them from sagging due to the weight of standing water. Leaks can damage exterior brickwork and paintwork, plus damage interior plaster, paintwork or wallpaper.
