We offer services in relation to party walls, crack-diagnosis & subsidence, and structural design.

Party Walls;

We understand a great deal about party walls and the issues surrounding them. We act for Building Owners and Adjoining Owners alike, or as "Agreed Surveyor" for both jointly.

We also offer a Party Wall Risk & Applicability Assessment (£270) - in which we look at the particular project carefully and advise either (or both) parties what Notices need to be served, and how risks to party walls and neighbouring properties could be reduced to avoid the need to serve a Notice. If we subsequently prepare an Award, then the cost of the initial assessment is offset against the cost of the Award.

    "I have never been so impressed by the approach of Mr Bob Gibson of B&SC when he came over after my call to help me in both my work place, a future restaurant, but mostly when we reached my residence that had been suffering a subsidence since 3 years. I had never had an issue of subsidence in all the houses I had owned. Never seen one. I had purchased this last one in 2020 and in 2022 the dry weather and trees near made it happen. I cut the trees near but another 100 year old tree a bit distant from the house I did not have the heart to do it. While other experts insisted of underpinning that I could not afford, Bob Gibson made me smile the other day when he said "cut that last tree" and you won't need anything else and he spent so much time with me explaining also the nature of the soil, it really impressed me his calm and expert way to make me feel I had absolutely found the best structural Engineer. Moving forward now with your advice and instructions. Thank you Bob Gibson!"

    "Bob was brilliant. I had been losing sleep over our subsidence issue, but Bob put my mind at ease instantly. His professional, calm approach calmed my worries. He even advised on other, unrelated issues, which could have caused us problems in the future. I would highly recommend Bob and the team. Very professional, very experienced and very knowledgeable."
