TrustMark

TrustMark is a not-for-profit social enterprise and the only Government Endorsed Quality Scheme in the UK covering work a consumer chooses to have carried out in or around their home.

They continually re-invest in the scheme, working with Scheme Providers and Registered Businesses to improve consumer protection and standards across all sectors.

TrustMark licences and audits over 35 Scheme Providers with over 15,000 Registered Businesses. These encompass 156 different service types and include everything you might expect: plumbers, electricians and builders to a few you might not: carpet cleaners, landscape gardeners and leadwork specialists, plus most trades in-between.

Whether you are looking for an electrician, a plumber or a landscape gardener, the TrustMark logo is a reassuring sign of the quality and standards they are required to uphold. TrustMark Registered Businesses are required to adhere to high standards of technical competence, customer service and trading practices, all of which are underpinned by their Customer Charter, Code of Conduct and Framework Operating Requirements.

New regulations (ECO3: improving consumer protection), which were developed based on the recommendations from the Each Home Counts review, include TrustMark. This means that all tradespeople carrying out energy improvements must be TrustMark registered and adhere to the TrustMark Framework Operating Requirement (FOR), providing greater levels of assurance and protection to homeowners.

The responsibility for the administration of the Energy Company Obligations (ECO) technical monitoring moved from Ofgem to TrustMark on 1st July 2021.
