Is laminate flooring good quality?
I like the look of wooden flooring in my hallway and kitchen but am concerned at the price of traditional wood floors - is laminate flooring any good these days? I remember it being quite cheap back in the day.

Laminate flooring is a material that is manufactured to give the appearance of real wood without the hefty price tag. From walnut to tile effect laminate flooring, there is a huge range of options to choose from to fit with the theme of your home.
Laminate flooring is generally water resistant and features several layers of material to provide protection to the structure of your floor. Prone to chipping and the inability to be repaired are among the disadvantages of laminate flooring. Generally, if laminate flooring becomes damaged then the entire board must be replaced.
Real wood flooring, on the other hand, uses authentic wood to act as the home's floor. Genuine hardwood floors are more expensive, but as well as being easily repaired, can add significant value to your home. Laminate flooring, on the other hand, gives you the look of authentic wood flooring without the price.
What's the cost to install laminate flooring?
The price of installing real wood floors is approximately £60-70 a square metre, compared to laminate flooring which is around £8-10 a square metre, So huge savings can be made. Laminate flooring installation is undertaken by many local flooring companies.
