At TrustATrader, we are local tradesmen at heart and, despite our ever-growing list of registered tradespeople, we want to keep that element of trust between our traders, our customers and us. In order to do this, we make sure that all of the traders listed within our online directory are appropriately qualified, accredited and insured to undertake the work that is on offer. It’s quite simple: if we wouldn’t employ a trader to do work within our own homes, we wouldn’t expect you to employ them either.

Reviewed

Our rating system is designed to allow genuine customers to give their honest opinion of their experience with their trader, on categories such as punctuality, cleanliness, value and quality. With the opportunity to add a written review, our rating system gives you an overall score of up to five stars.

Have you ever wondered why you don’t find traders on Trust A Trader who only have one, two or even three stars? That’s because our standards are high. We only allow the best traders to join our family. In the unlikely event that a customer is unhappy with the service that they received from one of our traders, we will do one of two things: provide a mediation service to help both parties to reach a satisfactory outcome; or, if that fails, we will remove the trader in question from our website. It’ simple, really: if our customers aren’t satisfied, nor are we.

Information About Double Glazing

The term “double glazing” is really a catch-all term for all energy-efficient windows. There are, in fact, many double glazing manufacturers, producing different types of double glazing. Primary glazing is a term that refers to the original window in a property – usually an older property- which has a single pane of glass. Some houses are under conservation restrictions, which mean that these windows can’t be removed and replaced for double glazed windows. However, secondary glazing can be used, to increase a window’s quality and energy efficiency, without changing a home’s original features. Secondary glazing is a form of double glazing that is perfect for homes with feature windows – bringing the many benefits of double glazing, without impacting on the property’s heritage.

  • Triple glazing adds a third layer of glass to create two insulating pockets of air between the panes. This adds even more protection from sound and the elements. This is more prevalent in cities, where there is heavy traffic pollution, or countries which experience more extreme weather. Triple Glazing is, inevitably, more expensive than double glazing, and is not generally needed in your average, suburban house in the UK.
  • Standard double glazing is the replacement of existing windows and doors to offer additional insulation and energy efficiency. There are a range of styles, materials and colours available, so home owners have the opportunity to choose double glazed front doors and windows that meet their needs on function as well as aesthetics.

If you are unsure which type of double glazing will best meet your needs, feel free to call one of the specialists listed in our directory; they will happy to offer you no-obligation advice to help you to get the best deal for your needs and budget.
