Association of Professional Independent Chimney Sweeps

The Association of Professional Independent Chimney Sweeps (APICS) was formulated in 2002 to recognise the importance of professional, independent chimney sweeps and to set out standards that association members must adhere to. APICS continues to improve the knowledge and safety of independent local chimney sweeps and their customers throughout the UK, helping customers to access outstanding service from traders they can trust.

Members of this association of chimney sweeps engage in a CPD (continual professional development programme) that ensures that they are up to date with changing regulations on safety and best practice, ensuring that customers are safeguarded and that their chimneys are insured in the event of fire.

With the rise in popularity of wood burning stoves and open fires, Trust A Trader is committed to protecting our customers against rogue traders, which is why we encourage all of the chimney sweeps in our directory to become members of the Association of Professional Independent Chimney Sweeps.
