We are pleased to unveil a selection of new features which have been added to the TrustATrader.com website this week.
First and foremost, not least because it appears at the top of every page, is 'Use my location'. This new button appears above the postcode field when you're searching for traders which, when clicked, automatically finds your location so that you don't have to enter anything by hand. Not just for the lazy, this will be particularly useful for those viewing the website on a mobile device, or perhaps if you're not sure of the local postcode. If the system can't find your location, or if you want to search an area further away, you can still enter a city or postcode as usual.
The next feature is also related to the search. You have been able to search by trader name for a long time, but now you can choose to view the profile of any trader you find by this method, rather than simply leaving a review. Search by trader name was intended to help you find and review a company who had recently done some work for you, but now you can also use it to look up the details of any specific trader, as long as you have an idea of their company name.
The final new feature is part of the 'Text a Trader' facility. For those not familiar, you can click 'Text Trader' from the search results or profile page of any trader on TrustATrader.com, allowing you to send a text for free. Now, the text form will also remember your details so that you don't have to enter them again, should you wish to send another text (to the same or any other trader).
