Lea Manor After School Club

Trustatrader.com is not only a directory containing experienced quality tradesmen but a company commited to helping the community, this is why we have started carrying out community projects.

During the first four weeks of our ongoing advertising campaign with Chiltern radio we asked listeners to write or email in to Chiltern radio any deserving causes requiring the help of tradesmen i.e. a scout hut may require new roof, old peoples home may need new heating, etc.

With a massive response to our appeal we had dozens of requests and looked into them all. Choosing the ten most deserving we went on the road and viewed them. After long deliberation we finally decided on which we considered the most deserving;

The After School Club at Lea Manor High School Luton

In a very bad state of repair and due to be closed down for safety reasons (ceiling tiles falling down and floor tiling coming up etc) the After School Club provides a safe and fun environment for kids after normal school hours should they not be able to return home till later. The club is primarily run by one of the schools teachers Marcia Newman who dedicates most of her own time ensuring the kids have a fun and safe time, she even drives some of the kids home in the evening.

Viewing the club it was obvious it required a complete make over so we;

·Painted all the walls, fixtures and fittings
·Replaced floor with top quality laminate flooring
·Replaced ceiling tiles
·Built computer desks and DJ booth
·Fitted new fire doors

Re: Trustatrader.com

I am writing in reference to the above named organisation and in particular, the work they recently undertook (in record) time to renovate our clubroom.

Russell Davis and Gary McEwen, along with their team of professional tradesmen, managed to completely gut and refurbish our kids club in one weekend.

Starting on a Friday evening, after their regular day jobs, the men came in, did a quick survey of the badly damaged room. The floor tiles alone were in a very poor state of disrepair and much more work needed to be done to overhaul the room in time, for the children to use by Monday.

The work was especially difficult due to the time constraints, foul weather and the problematic workspace. The fellas started early morning, finished late in the evenings, and managed to stay good humoured and friendly throughout.

I found the team helpful in providing tips, ideas and advice for the maintenance of the materials provided and would not hesitate in recommending them to any other company or organisation seeking quality tradesmen for any type of major renovation, building facelift or a quick room makeover. They even stayed behind to assist in the general the clean up and sanitation process.

They also worked well with our staff members and sociable with the young adults who volunteer and attend the club.

Many thanks to all involved.

I would thoroughly recommend being a member of “Trust a Trader” to any small business in the building trade. They only take on reliable, trustworthy tradesman so their website customers can feel confident that you are not a “cowboy”.

We recently took part in one of their community projects, which was good fun and an excellent way to promote our business and theirs. The whole event was well publicised and promoted on local radio. We laid a floor in a school, which was a great way to demonstrate our high standard of work and hand out business cards to all those we impressed.

Being a member of Trust a Trader has been wonderful for our business; I hope it works for you too!
